The Gateway Green Alliance(GGA) has a 15 year history of participating in grassroots struggles in St. Louis. During this time The GGA has published the Compost-Dispatch newsletter; acted as the environmental wing of the St. Louis coalition opposing NAFTA; defeated a plan to construct a medical waste incinerator in a mixed race, low income community, and opposed the Times Beach Incinerator. Our goal is to transform our society structurally. Saving our world and improving our environment for future generations means that we must replace the system of uncontrolled and destructive growth with one which respects the beauty and diversity of life.

In addition, the Gateway Green Educational Foundation (GGEF) works to inform the public about key values of environmentalism and environmental issues which confront the United States. This includes productions of St. Louis' only environmental cable TV show, Green Time, along with publications like Synthesis/Regeneration and Compost-Dispatch.
