Movie Night Plus at CAMP

Friday, April 1, 2011
7-9 pm

Green Party candidate for Alderman in the 20’th Ward, Jim McNeely, will host the showing of the film, Jack Herer is the Emperor of Hemp. This is a documentary, narrated by the best in the business, Peter Coyote, about Herer’s revered life-long battle against the US government’s costly and destructive war on marijuana, and in particular, the criminalization of industrial hemp, a non-psychoactive variant of the cannabis plant that would be an economic boon for industries ranging from food products to clothing to paper products to construction materials to biodiesel fuel, among others. Herer is perhaps best known for his highly instructive and most entertaining history, The Emperor Wears No Clothes, often referred to as the “hemp bible”, now in its 11”th Edition.

As host, Jim McNeely will discuss and conduct a Q&A about his ideas for promoting hemp businesses in St. Louis that, with prospective legalization of hemp agriculture, could be a major source of jobs and income for the region. Here is your opportunity to learn more about hemp and a Green Party Aldermanic candidate in next Tuesday’s election who has some ideas that depart from our encrusted St. Louis political establishment. Looking forward to seeing you at CAMP.
