The Celestial Theatre to present a Scenery Simulatus artistic prop at
The International Space Development Conference 2017
St. Louis, MO. March 05, 2017 The Celestial Theatre has signed up as a Co-Sponsor for the National Space Society's International Space Development Conference 2017. Since 1970 the Celestial Theatre has produced over 150 shows and has 50 custom masks representing many outlandish personalities from other fictional worlds. We also take inspiration from nature's bounty in our creations. Our homeland is Bonkersburg, a place we named in 1969! At ISDC, the theatre will install a stylized Scenery Simulatus that attendees can sit at and view remarkable pictures and videos of space on a PC monitor. Next, stick around and listen to our at random poetry readings! The theatre is looking for artists who can contribute pictures or short videos of outer space paintings, digital art and poetry.
Note that Prof. Johann-Dietrich Wrner, Director General of the European Space Agency (ESA), is the winner of the National Space Societys 2017 prestigious Wernher von Braun Memorial Award. This award recognizes Wrner as an effective leader of the European Space Agency and the contributions of ESA to the world space community. Prof. Wrner will accept the award on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the National Space Societys 2017 International Space Development Conference ( This will be the 36th ISDC and will be held in St Louis, Missouri at the Union Station Hotel. The conference is open to all and will run from May 25-29, 2017. Prof. Wrner will join other luminaries such as NASA Associate Administrator Bill Gerstenmaier, Gemini and Apollo astronaut Thomas Stafford, space program pioneers MACs Old Team, and the Kepler-K2 space mission team.
I want to add that the St. Louis Space Frontier is a local chapter of the National Space Society and is hosting the event and has several nice bus tours planned on Thursday May 25. Please look into this fun option!
